      Enhance Your Interior Design Skills

The spaces that we live, work and play in require creative yet functional and practical minds to give them their character and function. Interior Designers can affect the way we feel, the way we work and so much more with their ability to create inspired surroundings.

With the Interior Design program at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division, you will study computer-aided drafting and design, 3-D design, space planning, problem solving and the history of design and architecture.

Interior design course work also covers specialty design, including exhibit design, hospitality design, retail store design and corporate design. In addition, you will learn how to communicate interior design solutions through a variety of visual media.

As a student in the Interior Design program, you will build your individual interior design portfolio. Upon graduation from the Interior Design degree online program, you will have the opportunity to showcase the practical and technical skills you have acquired to potential employers at the graduation portfolio review.

      Career Portrait

From the Bureau of Labor and Statistics: “Employment is expected to grow faster than average; however, keen competition for jobs is expected.

Employment of interior designers is expected to grow 19 percent from 2008 to 2018, faster than the average for all occupations. An increasing interest in interior design and awareness of its benefits will increase demand for designers. As businesses realize the improvements that can be made to worker and customer satisfaction through good design, they will use interior designers to redesign their offices and stores.”

      Accreditation

The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
